HERproject creates partnerships to improve female reproductive health awareness and to improve women workers’ services throughout the global supply chain

Women’s Health at Business for Social Responsibility

From 2001-2002 and in 2006, BSR explored the status of women’s health along global supply chains. The studies revealed many women’s health needs were going unmet. The women, most between 18 and 25 years old, demonstrated a widespread lack of awareness about their general and reproductive health and hygiene, family planning options and how to access health services.

In 2007, BSR launched HERproject, (or Health Enables Returns), which links global companies, factories and local NGOs in partnerships to improve women’s reproductive health awareness and access to services.
